Drone Policy
This policy regulates the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) or drones on the properties of the
Rideau Waterway Land Trust (RWLT).
Drone flying is a popular hobby for many people and may also be used for commercial purposes.
However, drones can pose risks to visitors, disturb wildlife, and lead to negative experiences for other
visitors to RWLT’s protected lands. For these reasons, RWLT seeks to limit the use of drones.
Recreational drone use - Prohibited
The recreational operation of a UAV or drone from any RWLT property is prohibited.
Commercial drone use - Please Contact
Please contact RWLT at info@rwlt.org if you would like to use a drone from any RWLT properties for
a non-recreational purpose.
Geocaching Policy
To protect sensitive habitats for species at risk and endangered species that could be damaged by people searching off-trail, geocaching is not permitted on RWLT properties.
